Anti-Israel counter protest today
From our friends At the back of the Hill...Action Alert Reminder Counter Protest Anti-Israel demonstration outside City Hall Downtown San Francisco, Civic Center Plaza (Polk St. between Grove and McAllister) Thursday, September 7th, 3:30-5 PM The American Friends Service Committee(AFSC) are calling for a "Interfaith Silent Vigil" to demand that Israel "End the occupation and all violence" as a precondition for a secure Israel. AFSC often advocates for peace, but in the Arab-Israeli conflict they stand shoulder to shoulder with those who advocate the destruction of Israel. Like other demonizers of Israel, they blame Israel for all attacks against it, claiming in true "blame the victim" fashion that all violence against Israel is solely the fault of Israel's actions in perpetrating "occupation and violence." As always, StandWithUs/San Francisco Voice for Israel will counter the anti-Israel propaganda, misinformation, and distortions. Even if you can come for just a few minutes, please add your voice to the pro-Israel demonstration so that our enemies know that even when they try to keep us away by holding events during the workday, we will still be there! As AFSC is promising a "silent vigil," we ask that you refrain from loud shouting or noisily confronting the other side unless their "vigil" becomes less "silent."
