Jobless rate drops to five-year low

The unemployment rate dropped to a five-year low of 4.4 percent in October as employers added 92,000 new jobs -- flashing a picture of a strong labor market as the midterm elections approach.


Consumer confidence at a high since 2004

Spurred in part by lower gas prices and higher stock prices, consumer confidence has surged recently and is now at its best level in nearly three years.


Dow closes over 12,000 for first time

The Dow Jones industrial average yesterday closed above the 12,000 level for the first time, buoyed by strong corporate earnings and adding to the stock market's recent record-setting rally.


And Democrats want to raise taxes if they take over the House and Senate!
